B&ES

For a century and more members of the Heating and Ventilating Contractors’ Association (B&ES) have demonstrated an unrivalled commitment to higher standards and best practice.

Since April 2003, the B&ES membership criteria have included a requirement for the independent inspection and assessment of both new and existing members.

Potential members must undergo a full inspection and assessment prior to their admission into B&ES membership.

Existing members must submit to inspection and assessment regime every three years.

Inspection and assessment is undertaken on behalf of the B&ES by BM TRADA, a recognised certification body with a soundtrack record in the construction industry.

The B&ES logo has long been regarded as a mark of quality and a badge of professionalism. Now, the status of the B&ES and its members has been raised higher still.

Once again, the B&ES is proving itself to be ahead of the game. To be setting the agenda, rather than simply following where others lead.

B&ES Specialist Groups

The B&ES four specialist groups exist to provide additional services tailored to the individual requirements of members engaged in particular specialist fields within the industry.

The four groups cover Ductwork (DWG), Heating and Plumbing Services (HAPS), Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC), and Service and Facilities (SFG) – including a Ventilation Hygiene Group branch.

Each group’s executive committee operates its own programme of events, providing members with regular opportunities to discuss business issues with like-minded colleagues.

Group Branches

East of England Branch

At a meeting held on 30 September 2008, Scott Gleed of Ceilite Airconditioning Ltd and Vice Chairman of the RAC Group, was elected as Chairman of the B&ES RACG East of England Branch. The meeting, which goes from strength to strength, was also attended by RACG Chairman, Karen Leader and Bob Blake of Summit Skills who joined a large number of members from the region to receive a presentation from John Ellis on the F-Gas Regulations. John was recently awarded the RAC Gold Award at the Cooling Industry Awards for his outstanding contribution to the RAC industry.
