Ceilite Airconditioning - Training Statement

Our commitment to training is demonstrated by the courses our engineers, improvers, and apprentices undertake. They include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Start date at Ceilite advised. As an Investors in People Company Ceilite pride themselves on staff retention.
  • CITB CSCS Skill card– Industry wide recognition of employees skills and competence.
  • Fire Warden –The fire protection association is a basic fire fighting and fire prevention course and covers UK fire legislation, fire statistics, hazard spotting, fire safety legislation, fire wardens responsibilities, extinguisher: theory, extinguisher: practical
  • Gas Safe-Safety Awareness – properties of compressed gases and how to avoid hazards. Correct use of cylinders, handling and storage. Safe transportation of cylinders. BCGA code of practice 7.
  • Abrasive Wheels Class No 8 & 9 – Requirements of the regulations. Wheels and machine speeds. Wheel identification. Causes and prevention of accidents.
  • St Johns Ambulance/ Emergency Aid as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive for appointed persons and employees working in small groups away from their employer's establishment.
  • Aluminium-Safety Towers – Aluminium towers-design, types and sizes. Assembly instructions. Basic safety notes, safe working loads and maximum platform height.
  • IPAF-Scissor Lifts and Booms – major components, pre-use checks, inspection, starting and stopping the machine. Basic operational practice.
  • Harnesses and Lanyards – in accordance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, organised by the Health and Safety People.
  • City & Guilds 2078 – All of our engineers and improvers are qualified via City & Guilds 2078 and have been registered with ACRIB. Our Health and Safety Officer also sat on the ACRIB board as a representative (observer) of the HVCA RAC Group.
  • Managing Safely in Mechanical Services -safety awareness HVAC accredited covering health & safety law, the management of health & safety at work, instruction regulations, welfare, fire, RIDDOR and COSHH.
  • CDM 1994, HSW 1996 – The construction (Design Management) Regulations 1994 and The Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996.
  • Asbestos Awareness - To ensure that people have a thorough knowledge of the dangers posed by in the workplace, the safety precautions required to control exposure and the legislative requirements placed upon them when they come into contact with this substance.  

Ceilites' employees have sufficient information, instruction and training to undertake their work tasks safely thereby ensuring hazards and risks are not being created. Our policies are promoted strongly through the ranks to ensure promotion of Health & Safety and its awareness on all of our sites.
