CEILITE RECEIVES RECOGNITION AT PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Ceilite has been named as one of the South East’s best employers in the regional final of the National Training Awards 2012.

The finalists and winners were announced at a high profile joint awards ceremony organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, which was held at the iconic Cineworld at The O2 on the Thursday 20th September.

Ceilite were proud to win the training award Small Employer of the Year, the judges noted that Ceilite Airconditioning Ltd, based in Stansted, Essex, designs, installs and maintains air conditioning and heat pumps. Their 28 staff work at construction sites throughout the country and need to have access to the latest Health and Safety guidance to work knowledgeably and safely. To address this, Ceilite developed an innovative learning and development tool known as Safety Card Training Talks. This has delivered impressive results for Ceilite and the wider construction industry.

Accidents at the firm have reduced by 50% and more than 250 employers have benefited as Ceilite has taken an extremely proactive approach to sharing their good practice.

The National Training Awards recognise organisations that have delivered outstanding training programmes and the National Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the achievements of the country’s most outstanding Apprenticeship employers and their apprentices. Both awards are organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, who received in excess of 1,500 high quality entrants this year.

Vic Grimes Divisional Area Director for London and South East from the National Apprenticeship Service, said: “This year’s awards were a terrific showcase of the outstanding wealth of talent that we have across Kent, Essex and East Sussex. Given the volume and high calibre of entries we received, I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ceilite for this superb achievement. They are a testament to the many benefits training brings to businesses, allowing employers to up-skill their staff.”

All the South East winners will proceed through to a final national judging stage and the national award winners will be revealed during the opening ceremony of the UK’s largest national skills and careers event, WorldSkills UK – The Skills Show, at the NEC in Birmingham on 14 November.

The National Training Awards have City & Guilds as their premier sponsor and are also sponsored by Rolls Royce.

The South East Awards ceremony was generously supported by Cineworld at The O2 , Purely Vocations, The Essex Enquirer and Creative Process for the venue, prizes, catering and photography.
